Download S: TDS Payable Tracker (.xlsx)
What it does
Works out TDS on each bill from a rate table you control, the due date for depositing it, whether it was paid on time, the challan reference and indicative late-deposit interest, with totals by nature of payment and by month to tie to the ledger and the quarterly return. You check rates and sections against current law.
Who it is for
AP and tax teams.
How to use it
- Go to 'Rates'. Check every row against the law that applies to you. The sample rates and thresholds are for illustration only.
- Go to 'Settings'. Check the deposit due day (the 7th of the next month in the sample), the special due date for March deductions and the interest rate for late deposit.
- Go to 'Register'. Enter each bill: vendor, PAN, nature (pick from the list), the amount on which TDS applies and the date of deduction (the date of credit or payment, whichever is earlier).
- When you deposit the tax, type the challan date and the challan reference. The status, delay and interest fill in by themselves.
- Go to 'Summary'. Tie the month-wise TDS to your TDS payable ledger and to the quarterly TDS return. The Checks box should read OK.
