How it works
- Asset: if the carrying amount is more than the tax base, the difference is taxable and gives a deferred tax liability. If it is less, it gives a deferred tax asset.
- Liability: the other way round. A provision in the books that is deductible only when paid (tax base nil) gives a deferred tax asset.
- Tax loss: type the unused loss or credit in the tax base column.
- A deferred tax asset is recognised only if future taxable profit is probable (Ind AS 12, paragraphs 24 and 34). Choose "No" to hold it back.
- Movement = closing deferred tax − opening. Items that are recognised in OCI or directly in equity take their deferred tax there too (paragraph 61A).
The 25% in the box is only a placeholder. Type the rate that applies to you, including any surcharge and cess.
